Pennyfine Close

Possibly not quite as attractive as Preston Cottage but still a very pleasant setting, the half dozen bungalows with pleasing gardens were constructed between 1985 and 1986. The site was formally occupied by the Preston Filling Station and the brick crushing plant run by Mr. Frank Currell. During the 1970's the brink crushing plant closed and the filling station and nearby buildings were taken over by a company which specialised in the fitting of sun-roofs to motor cars. The clearing of the land heralded the beginning of Pennyfine Close.

Further south, past Thornton House with its unusual porch, we arrive at The Village Hall
